This image is actually Hanlan Point Stadium.

Decades before the Toronto Blue Jays won their first World Series, there was high calibre, professional baseball being played in Toronto.  In fact, decades before the Toronto Blue Jays franchise even existed, there was high calibre, professional championship baseball being played in Toronto.

Truth be told, there is a great deal of baseball history in Ontario's capital city, some of which pre-dates the Blue Jays' first World Series win by over 100 years.  As a life long Blue Jays fan, I have only stumbled upon pieces of this history by accident, by way of some old baseball cards.  To say the least, they have intrigued me; caused me to want to learn more about about those old teams, the players, the managers, the stadiums, the business behind those teams, and how it all came together to make them successful.

Toronto played in the International Association from 1886-1890, the Eastern League from 1895-1911 and the International League from 1912-1967.  My original intention with this site was to research all three "eras" of Toronto baseball and display my findings on this site.  That has turned out to be a bit too ambitious.  So instead, I am going to put my main focus on the year 1912 (the first year of the International League) and see how that goes.  I am also going to try to research all eight teams that were in the International League that year, though my emphasis will remain with Toronto

Along with using this site to organize my research, I am going to use it to display the aforementioned 'old baseball cards' that I have managed to gather, with the hopes of adding the cards on my want list to that collection.  I have not yet determined the final direction that I will take with my collection, though I assume that as it evolves, so will this site.

Since you've managed to find this site, I am going to assume that you have some interest in the history of professional baseball in Toronto, or at least in old baseball cards.  Regardless of the nature of your visit, please feel free to take a look around.  If you have any comments or questions, I invite you to contact me through the form provided.

Thanks for stopping by!
